Crab boils are a a major player in my family’s meal rotation. Here is my version of a at home crab or seafood boil.

If you’re a seafood lover like myself, you know that there’s nothing quite like the taste of fresh seafood. Growing up all around the world and vacationing on the coast, I’ve been fortunate enough to enjoy all types of delicious seafood dishes. However, one of my all-time favorites has to be a good old-fashioned seafood boil. Today, I want to share with you one of my favorite seafood boil recipes: the crab seafood boil. This recipe is simple, delicious, and perfect for enjoying with friends and family on a warm summer day.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 sticks Butter (2 Salted & 2 Unsalted) Use unsalted if sodium is a concern
  • 1 Tablespoon Accent optional
  • 1 Tablespoon Chili powder
  • 1 Tablespoon Red pepper Flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon Lemon pepper
  • 1 Tablespoon Cajun Blackening
  • 1 Tablespoon Oregano
  • 1 Tablespoon Old Bay
  • 1 Tablespoon Paprika
  • 1 Tablespoon Cayenne pepper optional
  • 2 Tablespoon Onion powder
  • 2 Tablespoon Garlic powder
  • 1 Cup Minced Garlic (fresh)
  • 1 Medium Onion diced
  • 1/2 to 1 Cup Chicken stock Depending on how tight or loose you like your sauce
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 2 Lemons
  • 4 to 6 ears of corn
  • 1 Package of smocked beef sausage
  • 1 Zatarans Crab Boil

Directions

  • In a large pot, melt butter over low to medium heat, once melted then add chopped garlic and onion and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    4 sticks Butter (2 Salted & 2 Unsalted), 1 Medium Onion diced, 1 Cup Minced Garlic (fresh)
  • Combine all seasonings in a bowl and whisk together.
    1 Tablespoon Accent, 1 Tablespoon Chili powder, 1 Tablespoon Red pepper Flakes, 1 Tablespoon Lemon pepper, 1 Tablespoon Cajun Blackening, 1 Tablespoon Oregano, 1 Tablespoon Old Bay, 1 Tablespoon Paprika, 1 Tablespoon Cayenne pepper, 2 Tablespoon Onion powder, 2 Tablespoon Garlic powder
  • Add whisked seasonings to melted butter mixture, stirring until well combined.
  • Add a ¼ Cup of Chicken stock at a time until desired sauce consistency is achieved.
    1/2 to 1 Cup Chicken stock
  • Simmer for 30- 45 minutes for flavors to develop before serving.

Crab Leg Instructions

  • Fill a large stock pot ¾ full of water. Add a squeezed lemon, 1 squeezed orange and 1 Zataran’s Crab Boil packet, bring to a boil.
  • Add potatoes and corn and cook until fork tender, then set aside.
  • Add crab legs to pot for about 10-15 minutes.
  • Assemble bag or plate for eating.

Notes

If you have extra sauce, you can freeze it for up to 6 months. Just defrost, reheat, and enjoy when ready to eat.
